SPA has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst - Audit.


Responsibilities

Support the Army's audit readiness by ensuring policy compliance, creating corrective action plans for audit findings, and providing necessary documentation for reviews. Perform enterprise-level risk assessments to identify significant accounts, relevant assertions, materiality thresholds, and fraud risks. Ensure compliance with OMB Circular A-123, Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) requirements, and Army financial policies. Identify control deficiencies and unsupported balances; perform root cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective action plans. Coordinate, validate, and reconcile Provided-by-Client (PBC) documentation for external auditor review. Support testing related to Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), Balance Sheet, and other Army financial reporting components, as applicable. Track and manage audit findings through remediation logs and milestone reporting tools. Prepare executive-level briefings on audit status, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, and financial risk posture. Provide technical quality review of audit documentation to ensure compliance with GAO Yellow Book, and other applicable standards.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least 16 years of experience in federal auditing
  • Master's degree in accounting or related field and at least 12 years of experience in federal auditing
  • At least 20 years of experience with no degree
  • Extensive experience supporting DoW stakeholders and DoW/Army Financial Management
  • Strong understanding of the Army Control Catalog and the Army Corrective Action Plan process
  • Expert grasp of MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel
  • Mastery of skills in time management and teamwork, including organization, prioritization, communication, and problem-solving
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal SECRET security clearance
