We're looking for a Software Engineer II - to join Procore 's Resource Management organization. In this role, you'll serve as a highly proficient software engineer within the RM - Tracking Team. You will focus on both the backend and frontend development. Backend development will be done using Ruby on Rails or NestJS , and frontend development with React. You may also need to contribute to backend systems built in Java. You do not need to have all of these skills but must be willing to learn them quickly and come in with a curious mindset and a positive attitude.

As an IC2 Software Engineer at Procore, you are a core "engine" of your agile team. You'll spend the majority of your time in the IDE, contributing high-quality code and participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Your goal is to master the Procore tech stack while beginning to understand the broader business logic of the construction industry.You will be working with a senior team of very experienced Staff engineers and must be willing to collaborate and learn.

This position reports into the Sr. Engineering Manager and will be based in our Austin, US office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What You'll Do

  • Feature Delivery: Develop, test, and deploy features that solve real-world problems for construction professionals.

  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. You'll be expected to advocate for best practices like DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) and SOLID principles.

  • Collaborative Design: Participate in design docs and technical discussions. While you might not lead the architectural vision yet, you provide critical feedback on implementation details.

  • Bug Squashing: Take ownership of identifying, triaging, and fixing bugs within your team's domain to maintain a high bar for the user experience.

  • Continuous Learning: Engage in "Procore University" and internal tech talks to level up your skills in distributed systems and modern web development.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience: 2-5 years of professional experience in a production environment.

  • Tech Proficiency:

    • Backend: Comfortable with Ruby on Rails (Procore's backbone) or NestJS

    • Frontend: Experience building components in React and TypeScript.

    • Tooling: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI/Jenkins), and basic SQL.

  • Testing Mindset: Experience with unit and integration testing (RSpec, Jest, or similar).

  • Communication: Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders (like Product or UX).

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

113,040.00 - 155,430.00 USD Annual For Los Angeles County (unincorporated) Candidates:
