In this role you will oversee Self Perform Field Construction operations at the group level to ensure profit, schedule, quality and safety expectations are met. Also responsible for recruiting, hiring, project assignment, terminating and developing construction personnel, including Project Directors of Construction. Responsible for litigation, approval of group warranty expenditures, insurance waivers and check signing. Participates in the establishment of construction policy and procedures at the corporate level.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Director of Operations in the preparation of proposals and development of new projects, including coordination of design and preconstruction activities and client engagement as needed.
  • Lead execution of Haskell's self-perform construction scopes on water, wastewater, and industrial process water projects, serving as the primary point of accountability for field performance.
  • Partner with pursuit, estimating, and preconstruction teams to identify self-perform opportunities and ensure scopes are clearly defined, constructible, properly staffed, and aligned with execution strategy.
  • Participate in design reviews and constructability sessions, providing input on sequencing, access, treatment structures, yard piping, underground utilities, equipment foundations, and process interfaces.
  • Support Project Managers with self-perform labor planning, production forecasting, estimating inputs, cost code structure, and staffing strategies.
  • Provide recommendations on construction techniques, self-perform means and methods, crew deployment, and sequencing..
  • Support self-perform superintendents, foremen, and craft leaders, ensuring effective workforce deployment, utilization, safety, quality, and productivity across multiple projects.
  • Oversee safety, quality, and regulatory compliance for all self-perform crews in complex and highly regulated environments.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers to manage subcontract interfaces impacting self-perform work and ensure purchase orders and subcontracts support execution plans.
  • Monitor labor performance and self-perform cost reporting; identify variances and lead corrective action plans to maintain productivity and budget alignment.
  • Perform periodic site inspections to verify schedule adherence, safety compliance, and quality standards for self-perform work; participate in owner and project coordination meetings as needed.
  • Support timely completion and close-out of self-perform scopes, including punchlist resolution, turnover, commissioning coordination, and warranty response related to self-perform work.
  • Work with Haskell's Director of Field Technical Training to develop training, mentoring, and development of self-perform superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals, supporting apprenticeship programs and field leadership progression.
  • Act as the operational link between project teams and the Director of Operations, translating business-unit strategy into consistent, repeatable field execution.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in water, wastewater, or industrial process water construction.
  • Demonstrated experience leading self-perform operations, including structural and process concrete, underground utilities, yard piping, equipment foundations, and related industrial scopes.
  • Strong knowledge of the design and construction of water and wastewater facilities such as treatment plants, pump stations, basins, clarifiers, and industrial pretreatment systems.
  • Extensive experience managing field operations in complex environments including live tie-ins, bypass pumping, phased plant expansions, and brownfield facilities.
  • Proven ability to lead craft labor, superintendents, and foremen while driving productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
