Pay Rate: $25.51 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and employees at a government facility by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies, and/or assisting with emergency response activities when needed.
  • Operate walk-through metal detectors, hand-held wands, and x-ray screening equipment to screen persons and permitted items entering the facility, following posted rules and instructions.
  • Control access points by verifying identification and/or authorization, managing visitor sign-in, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and directing individuals to the appropriate service area.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and local public services as appropriate.
  • Complete required logs and reports, document screening outcomes and unusual activity, and communicate pertinent information to supervisors and/or client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
