Role: |
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, leads community engagement initiatives that result in business generation. Collaborates and engages with community partners and employees to accurately assess community needs that drive business growth. Provides support to participating school districts and business partners by conducting on-site and/or virtual open enrollment sessions and participating in community festivals and partners' benefits fairs to assist members/potential members in understanding and using credit union products and services. Adapts to changing needs while maintaining positive relationships with community and business partners, including identifying new business opportunities. Performs other Community Engagement duties as assigned by the Community Engagement Officer. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Serve with Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Engagement Officer. |
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
- Represents the credit union's brand in the community. The Community Engagement Liaison will enthusiastically support the credit union's culture, core values and mission.

- Delivers presentations on money management and financial services topics to a variety of audiences. These audiences include but may not be limited to employee, association, nonprofit and school groups.

- Collaborates with other areas of the credit union when appropriate to deliver presentations that require licensed professionals including Mortgages and Financial Services. Also collaborates with branch leaders when presentations present clear new membership opportunities.

- Organizes, attends and coordinates staffing of all school divisions' open enrollment and benefit fairs, festivals which present new membership opportunities.
|
|
- Seeks new opportunities for community events and business development through relationships. New opportunities may include presentations, fairs, festivals, or other creative ways to present the benefits of joining Apple to the community.
|
|
- Provides product and or service recommendations to potential and current members based on thorough needs assessment. In compliance with Apple's policy and procedure, accurately completes all required forms and data input for new account openings and initiation of other credit union services.

- Remains well-informed of new products and services. Keeps current of new rules and regulations that may impact new member enrollment.
|
|
- Measures all new membership growth and activity from community events, benefits fairs, and open enrollments in an effort to inform future decisions regarding event participation.
|
|
- Supports other Community Engagement efforts including volunteer events, shred events, and Apple-generated drives (school supply, food, etc.).
|
|
- Supports and nurtures branches in community engagement activities including the management of the community events calendar.
|
|
- Supports Community Engagement Officer in their absence by responding to community engagement inquiries.
|
|
- Encourages branch managers and other staff participating in community events through positive coaching skills learned in AWIS and through leading by example.

|
Knowledge and Skills: |
Experience |
Minimum three to five years financial services industry experience and/or sales experience required. Minimum three years event planning experience or equivalent preferred. |

Education |
A high school education or GED. AA or BA/BS preferred. |
|
Interpersonal Skills |
Ability to interact effectively in group and individual situations (virtually or in-person) at educational or credit union functions/events. |

Physical Requirements |
The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc. |
