Responsibilities

Oak Plains Academy (a UHS company)

Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy offers psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. The Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, softball and basketball.

We are seeking people who want to make a difference as a Utilization Review Coordinator, in the lives of our children by assuring their safety and security and who takes seriously the responsibilities we accept for the youth in our care. The ideal candidate will be patient, accepting, and compassionate and have a true desire to help children. The candidate is someone who can adhere to strict guidelines for our policies regarding supervision of the youth in our care. There will be times when overtime is required and we are seeking someone who can adapt to flexible schedules and is passionate about helping youth with mental health and behavioral problems.

The Utilization Review Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating a continuum of service while promoting positive outcome and optimal reimbursement, through coordination of patient care, daily clinical reviews, quality documentation, appeals, and reporting and supervising UR team members. Completes discharge practices for patients and families upon discharge.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, health information management or other related

    healthcare field is preferred with two years psychiatric experience in chart analysis and in the utilization

    review field.

  • Master Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of third-party reimbursement and processes involved in re-establishing benefits when unexpectedly terminated; experience in prioritizing review processes within a managed care environment. Experience interpreting admission and continued stay criteria to advocate for appropriate maintenance of benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience of admission and discharge functions and can discuss current psychopathology with BHO reviewers utilizing integrated clinical knowledge relating to Axis I diagnosis to evidenced clinical documentation.
  • 21 years of age, with a valid drivers license
  • Flexiable schedule
