Clinic Assistant/Physical Therapy Aide (New Montrose location)

The Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy is seeking a 12-month fixed-term Clinic Assistant/Physical Therapy Aide to enhance the patient experience at the USC Physical Therapy-Montrose clinic. This individual will support the physical therapist within the clinic by improving efficiencies, performing both non-patient and patient-related tasks.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Schedule patient appointments, answer general questions, obtain authorizations and pre-authorizations for patient care services. Schedule appointments with ancillary departments or other care providers as needed. Maintains master calendar for providers.
  • Ensure patient charts are prepared prior to appointments. Sets up exam rooms, assists clinicians with exams as needed, monitors patient flow.
  • Assists providers, as requested, by preparing the physical environment, performs non-patient related tasks, and patient-related tasks as assigned or requested by the provider. Assists as medical chaperones with room and equipment setup and are physically present to assist the provider and/or patient and visualize physical contact between the patient and provider during the sensitive health exam/treatment.
  • Maintains files and records, oversees equipment and office supply inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The rate for this hourly position is $23.00 per hour. Minimum Education: High school or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 1 year, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Minimum Field of Expertise: Medical office management and medical secretarial experience.
