We are seeking resumes for a Designer Intern at our Marshfield, WI facility.


Designer Intern

As a Designer Intern you will play a key role on the Marshfield WI Design Team that supports PCA's customers. In this role you will collaborate with customers and other team members to evaluate customers' needs and expectations, design packaging, build prototypes and make samples to submit to customers to ensure they receive cost effective and aesthetically appealing design solutions per their expectations. Prepare CAD specifications for production during the manufacturing process and partner with other team members to fulfill customer requests and offer guidance in respect to optimizing department and manufacturing efficiency.

Gain real world experience. Develop and design structural containerboard packaging for customers in the durables segment. This would include and not be limited to large bulk containers, RSCs, corrugated inner packaging, corrugated pallets, honeycomb packaging and combo bins. Work with a state of the art CAD program and sample cutting table. Be involved in product testing at our state of the art Packaging and Materials testing lab. Interact with a broad spectrum of people from Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, Design and also our Customers.


Basic Qualifications:


Currently enrolled in the Packaging Engineering program
* Knowledge of corrugated structural design principals
* Excellent communication skills (verbal & visual)
* Creative thinking and problem solving skills
* Demonstrated critical thinking abilities
* Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts
* Close attention to detail and commitment to flawless execution
* Technical understanding, must be proficient in the use of CAD software, Microsoft Office, materials and manufacturing process
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary range for position: $20/hr


  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
