Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Spruce Pine, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed patrol officer, conducting routine rounds and remaining visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and unusual activity, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts and local partners. This is a driving post that requires a valid driver's license under AU driver policy requirements, combining mobile patrol coverage with strong customer service and integrity-driven teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors and/or contractors while following site-specific security-related procedures and post orders at a government location.
  • Carry a firearm and related assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements and post instructions, and use sound judgment to help to deter and/or respond to potential threats.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site staff and/or local law enforcement as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter zones, observing for unusual conditions, policy violations and/or hazards and documenting findings.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or authorized lists, screening for prohibited items when directed, and completing accurate reports, logs and evidence documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
