The Role

We are seeking a Delivery Engineer, Modern Networks (Network, Security) to join our team to support our client base in the Indianapolis area. This is a highly consultative role involving the planning, design, and implementation of complex network and security engagements. You will serve as a technical lead on small to large-scale projects, effectively managing the implementation process from low-level design to customer acceptance.

Work Environment & Travel:



  • Home Base: This position is primarily Work From Home (WFH)
  • Onsite Requirement: Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite at customer locations within the Indianapolis metro area.
  • Frequency: Onsite presence fluctuates based on project phases; while much of the work is remote, periods of up to 100% onsite attendance may be required during critical deployment or assessment phases


Responsibilities include:



  • Engineering & Design: Perform project-based engineering, including low-level detailed design, staging, installation, validation, testing, and troubleshooting of data/security networks.
  • Project Leadership: Lead complex, large-scale Network and Security projects, ensuring designs align with business strategy, customer budget, and operational capabilities.
  • Assessments: Conduct network discoveries and perform Network and Security Assessments.
  • Client Facing: Present documentation and engagement deliverables directly to customers.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate as part of a multi-functional team with Sales, Pre-Sales, Project Management, and other delivery/engineering resources.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues and assist team members in solving problems with their deployments.
  • Mentorship: Work with junior members of the engineering team to successfully implement secure network solutions.
  • Maintenance: Execute network maintenance MOPs (Method of Procedure) both onsite and remotely with minimal downtime.


Required Skills and Professional Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 8+ years of related project implementation experience (Senior Level).
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.


Core Networking & Protocols:



  • Experienced expert with complex multi-protocol routing and switching solutions.
  • Strong level in routing and switching troubleshooting.
  • Core Routing and Switching platforms with a focus on design, configuration, and troubleshooting using Cisco Best Practices.
  • Network design and applications, including designing IP addressing.
  • Deep knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, including redistribution of protocols and loop prevention.
  • Mastery of the TCP/IP protocol stack, TCP/IP headers and packets, the OSI model, and commonly used TCP/UDP ports and associated services.


Security & Hardening:



  • Experience with various security parameters and hardening access to devices.
  • Experienced in implementing Palo Alto Networks Product Portfolio:

    • Panorama
    • Prisma Access
    • Prisma Cloud


  • Experienced in implementing Cisco Security Product Portfolio:

    • FirePower / FTD Firewalls
    • Meraki MX (Configuration, tuning, troubleshooting)
    • FMC Management




Cloud & Modern Networking:



  • Cloud Networking Experience: AWS, Azure, and GCP in a networking context.
  • Experienced deploying at least one SDWAN Solution (Viptela, Silverpeak, or Palo Prisma SDWAN).


Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:



  • Aviatrix: Experience with Aviatrix cloud networking.
  • Fortinet Product Portfolio: Fortigate FWs, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
  • Aruba Product Suite: Experience with Aruba CX and Aruba OS software, VSX and VSF technologies, and High Availability configurations.
  • Arista Networking: Solutions including CloudVision.
  • Automation / Scripting: Python, EMM, and TCL.
  • Active Cisco Certification: CCNP, CCIE
  • Active Palo Alto Certification: PCNSA, PCCSE, PCNSE
