Services include translating DOE directives and federal regulations into Sandia-specific requirements and guidance; developing tools to identify and control hazards associated with radioactive materials and radiation-generating devices; providing trained and qualified personnel to support radiological activities and operations across the Laboratories; and performing workplace sampling and monitoring to verify the effectiveness of radiological controls.

The organization works closely with the corporate Radiation Protection Safety Committee to establish goals, measure performance, and conduct assessments that support continuous improvement in the safe execution of radiological operations.
