Job Overview

The Specialist, Omnichannel Operations Strategies will develop and execute strategies to improve the colleague and customer experience in areas such as, but not limited to, Store Fulfillment, Order Pick Up, Returns Management, RFID, and Product & Tech Implementation. They lead implementation of new strategies that enhance overall efficiency in stores. They collaborate with store leadership as well as functional partners in Supply Chain, Technology, Customer Service, and Staffing to influence customer experience and drive sales and margin. They perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do



  • Identify and develop new strategies and best practices to streamline operational efficiencies related to workload execution.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and colleagues to support and understand operational challenges and develop solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a business owner for all store colleague support functions on issues pertaining, but not limited to, Store Fulfillment, Order Pick Up, Returns and RFID.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Macy's Technology, Logistics, Customer Service, and Inventory Management, to implement system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Understand, interpret and recommend modifications to multiple order management system platforms to manage colleague and customer friction.
  • Analyze data and recommend automation related to store operations, including workload productivities, order processing times, inventory counts, and order accuracy.
  • Provide training and support to store colleagues ensuring they understand and adhere to established procedures.
  • Visit stores for continued process improvement observations.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.


Skills You Will Need

Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations is crucial for optimizing in-store fulfillment operations.

Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for collaborating effectively with various stakeholders, including store managers, fulfillment teams, and cross-functional teams.

Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality is important for conducting audits, developing documentation, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools is required for analyzing data and generating reports.

Independence and Prioritization: The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks is essential for managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and fulfillment processes is preferred, as well as staying informed about industry trends and best practices.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
