Responsibilities
Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across designated routes.
Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with federal regulations.
Deliver freight to various locations while adhering to scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals and pickups.
Handle special cargo such as hazardous materials (Hazmat), following all safety protocols and regulations for transporting hazardous goods.
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during transit.
Requirements
Valid CDL B license with Hazmat endorsement required; experience with manual transmission preferred.
Proven truck driving experience, especially in delivering freight via route driving across urban and rural areas.
Ability to operate specialized equipment including refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, forklift, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials transportation.
Experience with load & unload procedures and handling various types of freight safely and efficiently.
Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance at all times.
Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or using equipment; capable of handling physically demanding tasks as needed.
