Job Objective

The Manager, Strategy & Insights, plays a central role in shaping the strategic direction for GIANT and MARTIN'S by combining rigorous strategic problem solving with a strong, insights driven foundation. This leader co-creates strategy with senior leadership, translates it into actionable plans, and ensures execution in partnership with cross functional teams.

This position supports an equal blend of enterprise and functional strategic problem solving, ensuring alignment between long term priorities and day to day performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy Development & Co Creation

* Partner with senior leaders across Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, HR, and Finance to shape strategic priorities aligned to the brand's long-term direction.

* Lead structured problem solving; defining questions, conducting analysis, synthesizing findings, and generating clear, compelling recommendations.

* Influence strategic shifts using a holistic insights approach that blends behavioral data, attitudinal research, and marketplace intelligence to uncover actionable strategic opportunities.

* Develop long term strategic agendas, including multiyear strategic frameworks, enterprise priorities, and future experience plans.

* Translate strategy into actionable workstreams supported by data-driven rationale and measurable success criteria.

2. Insights Leadership & Business Analytics

* Elevate the organization's ability to make data-informed decisions through storytelling, visualization, and insight translation.

* Guide analysts in building integrated perspectives that combine research, financials, customer data, operations, and market learnings.

* Serve as primary owner of relationships with internal and external analytics partners (e.g. ADUSA Consumer Science, Nielsen, Circana).

* Ensure consistency, integrity, and governance of business and customer data.

3. Cross-Functional Partnership & Consulting

* Act as a strategic consultant to internal functions, helping frame problems, interpret data, and align teams to shared goals.

* Provide clarity, influence decisions, and facilitate alignment across functions to support enterprise strategy.

* Communicate complex insights and strategic implications to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, synthesized manner.

* Maintain relationships with executive leadership, cross-banner partners, ADUSA Partners, and external partners.

4. Leadership & Talent Development

* Lead a team of analysts responsible for business analysis, customer and competitive insights, forecasting, and performance analytics, as well as a Project Manager responsible for cross functional initiative coordination.

* Develop team capabilities in analytics, problem solving, communication, and strategic thinking.

* Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

* Support career development, mentorship, and succession planning.

Minimum Qualifications

* 6+ years of experience in retail, strategy, business insights, consulting, or related fields.

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

* Demonstrated leadership of analysts or cross-functional teams.

* Advanced proficiency with data visualization and productivity tools (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Strong communication skills, including executive level storytelling and cross functional influence.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in strategic planning, business intelligence, customer insights, or competitive analysis.

* Consulting experience or equivalent strategic advisory exposure.

* Familiarity with retail analytics platforms (Nielsen, Circana, etc.).
