*Position: *Controls Tester
*Duration: *Contract for 4 Months (Likelihood to Extend/Convert Permanent) *Environment: *Hybrid in Jersey City, NJ (3 days on-site/2 days remote) *Job Summary* The Controls Tester supports the 1st Line of Defense by developing, executing, and enhancing the control testing and monitoring program. The position partners with Business Units to assess processes, evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive remediation. The individual will conduct deepdive reviews, create process maps, and strengthen existing risk and controlframeworks, directly contributing to the bank's overall control environment. * * *Responsibilities* * Support the design, implementation, and execution of 1st Line control testing and monitoring programs across the Americas Division. * Partner with Business Units to understand operational processes, control activities, and risks in order to perform effective testing and monitoring. * Conduct control effectiveness assessments, document results, and support remediation of identified gaps or findings. * Perform process reviews, walkthroughs, and control deep dives to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen controls. * Assist in enhancing Business Control Office (BCO) risk frameworks through process mapping, testing routines, and continuous improvement initiatives. * Create clear documentation including test scripts, process flows, control assessments, and stakeholder reporting. * * *Skills and Qualifications* * 7+ years of experience in control testing, monitoring, or risk/control frameworks within a financial institution. * Strong ability to conduct process deep dives, perform root cause analysis, and develop process maps. * Familiarity with 1st Line of Defense activities, operational risk concepts, and risk/control practices. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. * Analytical mindset with the ability to identify control gaps and support structured remediation. * Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple testing cycles. * Proficiency with Excel, Visio (or similar processmapping tools), and risk management platforms. * Knowledge of banking processes, operational risk management, and regulatory expectations for financial institutions. * Experience working within a 1st Line control or Business Control Office environment. * Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with Business Units and partners. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Jersey City, NJ. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
