ServiceNow CMDB Specialist - REMOTE.- Public Trust Needed Technology Systems

ServiceNow CMDB Specialist needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work remotely.



In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining CMDB architecture, supporting ServiceNow Discovery, aligning CMDB data with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM), and collaborating with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across the ServiceNow platform.



Responsibilities:

* Implement, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with organizational standards.

* Collaborate with infrastructure operations teams and the ServiceNow platform owner to support CMDB design and governance.

* Develop and enforce CMDB policies, business rules, standards, and procedures.

* Perform regular CMDB audits and reconciliation activities to ensure compliance and data integrity.

* Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery, including discovery schedules, probes, sensors, and patterns.

* Configure and maintain mid-servers and credential management for discovery processes.

* Manage configuration item (CI) classes and relationships within the CMDB aligned to CSDM standards.

* Develop automated processes to identify, remove, or retire stale CMDB data and relationships.

* Apply knowledge of network fundamentals (IP addressing, ports, protocols, firewalls) to support discovery and CMDB mapping.

* Support integration of operating systems and compute environments, including Windows and Linux systems, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

* Manage service accounts and ensure secure system access and credential management.

* Utilize scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python to automate processes and improve CMDB functionality.

* Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and vendors to ensure the CMDB supports operational and business objectives.

* Develop dashboards and reports to provide CMDB insights, health metrics, and performance monitoring.

* Configure and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB Health Dashboard.



Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

* 3-5 years of experience working with ServiceNow CMDB.

* Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations.

* Strong knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB architecture and platform capabilities.

* Experience with ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, and Asset Management.

* Experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery schedules, probes, sensors, mid-servers, and discovery patterns.

* Understanding of CMDB CI classes, relationships, and alignment with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM).

* Knowledge of network fundamentals including IP addressing, ports, protocols, and firewalls.

* Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems, including services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

* Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python.

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.



Certifications:

* ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Required

* ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations (DF) - Preferred



Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with ITIL frameworks and IT service management processes.

* Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid IT environments.

* Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.

* Experience with ManageEngine OpManager, Microsoft SCCM, or other infrastructure discovery/data integration tools.
