Description

Acara Solutions seeks a Lead Test Engineer for our client in Scottsdale, AZ.

  • As the Lead Test Engineer for Tactical Communications, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for providing rapid prototype mission critical solutions to our customer community.
  • The Lead is responsible for overseeing the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems within the Unified Testing Framework (UTF) environment.
  • This role needs expert-level knowledge of testing methodologies, Python programming, and system integration practices to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Lead a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and direction.
  • Develop and maintain the test strategy for embedded products.
  • Architect test solutions that effectively validate system requirements.
  • Establish best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting.
  • Leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments with key program stakeholders.
  • Design comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of product functionality.
  • Develop automated test scripts using Python 3.9+ following GDMS coding standards.
  • Implement robust verification and validation methodologies.
  • Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams.
  • Establish integration procedures that ensure smooth component interaction.
  • Support AGILE implementation.
  • Create detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities and results.
  • Conduct Performance reviews per process.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science or Technology or Mathematics with 8 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading 3 to 5 team members, holding team members accountable to program milestone execution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages, Python.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with hardware/software integration testing.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems development and testing.
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability.
  • Background in defense or aerospace industries.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas.
  • Ability to develop ROMs in accordance with execution of requirements.

  • Requires the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance.
