As an Outbound Operations Supervisor within the Chicago distribution center supporting our non-conveyable team, you'll be helping to keep our operation running at peak performance. From training to problemsolving, to maintaining our operational workflow, your leadership will directly support our mission and ensure seamless operations within one of our largest and highest volume locations. This role has the unique opportunity to provide exposure to multiple outbound departments and have a direct bottom-line impact on the operation.

Target Compensation: $72,000 - $74,000 (bonus eligible) Shift: 9:30AM to completion

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and directing warehouse activities to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations
  • Assess and move labor as needed throughout the day to ensure same-day-ship for all items within your department, as well as other departments within the DC
  • Directly lead a team of 12-18 direct reports
  • Maintain positive morale, while executing on defined objectives including but not limited to safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and managing employee performance
  • Aggressively seek solutions to operational and workflow problems at the root level
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with federal, state, and local company policies
  • Directly processes & validates hazardous material shipments in accordance with 49CFR regulations
  • Responsible for all non-conveyable item shipping
  • Drive operational efficiency through item slotting and inventory management
  • Support morning sort floor operation & low unit of measure direct loads (parcel trailers)
  • Assist with controlling expenses to include limiting and eliminating process re-work and operational waste
  • Aim to reduce employee turnover and minimize warehouse overtime hours where possible
  • Drive operational "6s" principles
  • Support other operational departments as needed or to cover PTO
  • Role is highly mobile, requires significant standing/walking
  • Monthly Safety observations
  • Daily review of direct reports LMS (IWIN) productivity, including posting results & coaching as needed
  • Maintain a clean & safe work environment
  • Other tasks as identified by the Sr. Operations Manager

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including demonstrated leadership capabilities within a distribution center environment

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • College or advanced degree preferred

Critical Skills:

  • Ability to direct all Non-Con & Bulk/LUM team members on daily assignments
  • Monitor and supervise daily department workload management
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Operations Supervisors
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility with schedule as business need require
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, MS Outlook
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and process improvement
  • Ability to multitask and make sound business decisions in a high-volume distribution center
  • Demonstrated employeeengagement capability
  • Highly dependable, accountable, and integrity driven
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS); Experience using labor management systems (LMS) and Power BI
  • Experience leading larger teams
  • Ability to effectively interpret and analyze data to drive productivity and results
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Yellow, Green or Black Belt)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $61,100 - $101,800
