Temple University's Tyler School of Art & Architecture is searching for a Part-Time Lead Technical Assistant!

Hourly Range: $24 - $28.50 (commensurate with experience)

Hours per week: 20

Position Summary
Reporting to the Tyler Program Director at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), the Part-Time Lead Technical Assistant provides both hands-on technical support and operational oversight for approximately 20,000 square feet of shared studios, classrooms, galleries, and support spaces. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, functional, and well-equipped studio environments while coordinating day-to-day operations that support Tyler-at-PAFA partnership programs.

The Part-Time Lead Technical Assistant plays a key role in translating academic and programmatic needs into effective studio operations, ensuring alignment with Tyler School of Art and Architecture and PAFA academic standards, institutional safety requirements, and strategic priorities. This position serves as a central operational and technical liaison among Tyler, PAFA, and Temple University administrative partners.

Job Details
* This position requires the following background checks: Cash Handling/PII background check.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree.
* Minimum of two (2) years of directly related technical and/or operational experience.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
* Experience working in a higher education or academic studio environment.
* Experience training or mentoring students.
* Proficiency with macOS and Windows operating systems.
* Experience with exhibition design, layout, and installation.

Required Skills and Abilities
* Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated experience in studio environments, equipment operation, and basic maintenance.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
* Ability to manage multiple operational priorities while providing responsive technical support.
* Working knowledge of professional studio standards, safety practices, and art handling procedures.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment in dynamic studio settings.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
