Job Title: Credit Balance Specialist (Temp-to-Perm) Location: Fort Worth, TX (In-Office) Schedule: Monday-Friday \| 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour Position Overview: Our client, a growing healthcare services organization, is seeking a Credit Balance Specialist to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is responsible for managing patient and insurance refunds, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring timely processing of credit balances. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Print refund checks from multiple systems within designated client deadlines. Generate and maintain check registers for client approval prior to releasing refunds. Track and manage all refund-related documentation and processes. Mail approved refund checks and maintain proper records. Prepare and send overpayment letters to payors along with the appropriate EOB documentation. Monitor and maintain check stock inventory to ensure operational continuity. Ensure all processes comply with internal policies and applicable regulations. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience in credit balances, refunds processing, or medical billing systems. Experience working within healthcare revenue cycle or billing environments preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of credit balance and refund processes. Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (including pivot tables) and database systems. Basic 10-key data entry and math skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using office technology including computer systems, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
