Location: Washington, DC (DC residents only)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Intake Specialist to support our growing healthcare operations team. This role has opened due to increased workload demand, and we are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining strong accuracy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to quickly learn new systems and processes. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently but also communicates proactively with supervisors and team members when support is needed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24.65 per hour
  • $5.55 per hour Health & Wellness benefit
  • Total Compensation: $30.20 per hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, and process incoming case information accurately and efficiently

  • Manage a high volume of requests while maintaining strong attention to detail

  • Enter and validate case data from source documentation or provider portal submissions

  • Perform Medicaid eligibility verification for providers and members

  • Screen cases to confirm required clinical documentation is complete for review

  • Contact providers to obtain additional clinical documentation when necessary

  • Conduct inbound and outbound calls to communicate case status, notifications, and follow-ups

  • Document all interactions clearly in the care management system

  • Scan, upload, and organize case files and related documentation

  • Assist providers with submitting required documentation for utilization review and medical management services

  • Perform scripted reviews when appropriate and escalate cases requiring clinical review

  • Prepare and build cases within the care management system and close cases under supervision when reviews are completed

  • Maintain accurate records within organizational and/or state Medicaid electronic medical record (EMR) systems

  • Respond to routine and time-sensitive inquiries while escalating complex issues to leadership

  • Ensure HIPAA and PHI compliance and report any violations appropriately

  • Report quality-of-care concerns through proper channels

  • Participate in internal quality reviews and assist with provider outreach when requested

  • Support onboarding and training for non-clinical staff as needed
