Summary of Position

This position performs all tasks, routine and non-routine, associated with the reclamation of generator and small-piece lead safe components. The position supports the manufacture of radioactive products, especially generators, by supplying production teams with packaging supplies to assemble the products.




Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm. Hours might be adjusted. Weekend and off shift overtime as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines, SOP's, as well as US and international (i.e. US, HC, TGA, etc.)regulations.
  • Responsible for following detailed instructions and communicating effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Must be able to prioritize work tasks to meet Manufacturing requirements.
  • Disassemble returned products to recycle reusable materials, deface used labels and markings for unused or returned products and perform quality control verification on returned recycled materials.
  • Reclaim depleted uranium and lead generators.
  • Reclaim small piece lead safes.
  • Receive and track depleted uranium generators using computer program and scanning equipment.
  • Manage, as sharps, needle valve assemblies and prepare for off-site shipment.
  • Ability to use various pieces of equipment to detect radiation dose rates and contamination levels.
  • Perform loose contamination surveys on all incoming returned generator safes.
  • Perform free release dumpster surveys.
  • Responsibilities also include the ability to lift, reach, pull, and squat as needed, according to warehouse demands.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Associate degree is preferred.
  • Work experience in warehousing/distribution is required (regulated environment, attention to detail, and following detailed instruction).
  • Fork truck and lift equipment experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Willing to work overtime with short notice; may be called in on weekends or asked to stay late to meet production requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Accurate keypunching and computer skills.
  • Highly motivated/dependable individual who is able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Able to get along with work with a diverse workforce.



Working Conditions:



  • Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.
  • Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
