Production Shift Supervisor

Huntsman is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, TX. This position will report to the Manager, Operations.

Supervises associated production employees within the assigned process area(s) to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient operation of assigned process units or utility systems.

With minimal supervision and moderate decision-making:

• Responsible for ensuring continued compliance by assigned reports to all safety and environmental policies and procedures for the area of responsibility.

• Responsible for managing assigned production employees in the areas of orientation, work assignments, training compliance, employee development, and performance management, including coaching, counseling, performance reviews, and corrective actions.

• Achieve operations and production goals with units operating at target rates and on-spec within equipment and environmental limitations.

• Maintain accurate records, process metrics, and documentation according to guidelines, and prepare both regular and ad hoc reports as needed.

• Manage overtime for Operations personnel appropriately to ensure safe operations of all units at all times.

• Communicate with both internal and external customers (i.e., raise issues and concerns to management, order necessary materials and supplies, interface with engineering, etc.).

• Perform regular walk-arounds of all units to ensure good housekeeping, safety and area procedure compliance, safety hazard recognition, etc.

Other general responsibilities:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.

• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Education required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Associate's Degree in Process Technology/Management may be substituted with equivalent years of Operating Experience.

Experience

• 5+ years of specific experience (High school diploma or equivalent).

• 3+ years of specific experience (Associate's Degree in Process Technology/Management).

• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.

• Must have good analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Must have a solid understanding of safety and environmental requirements.

• Communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.

• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.

• This role works a 12-hour rotating shift on nights and weekends on the Dupont Schedule.
