What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Support Technologist to join the dynamic product realization team of department 7522. Our team has a diverse set of skills and background to enable rapid production missions in close collaboration with our customers and partners. You will be responsible for overseeing a variety of technical work related to new process development, work instructions, maintenance/calibration coordination, component and system assembly and testing, and facilities coordination.

On any given day, you may be called upon to:

  • Work closely with the 7522 product and process engineers to ensure a technical understanding of the processes and expected results, recognizing product requirement deviations, troubleshooting and determining an effective solution
  • Monitor process health and identify ways to increase yields, decrease variability, decrease span time and mistake proof
  • Recommend corrective or preventive actions to assure or improve product quality and may be responsible for their implementation
  • Author and maintain written work instructions, operating procedures, or other technical documents to control product definition during the manufacturing process
  • Assemble and review product quality data to support product acceptance activities.
  • Support assembly and testing of development hardware
  • Partner with techs and engineers on the team to deliver complex products to the highest quality, safety, and security standards

Salary Range

$74,700 - $144,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

  • High school diploma plus 5 years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination or relevant education and/or experience
  • Experience creating detailed work instructions, operating procedures, and understanding product definition
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team that executes a variety of product realization missions and process development
  • Experience reviewing quality data and paperwork to support product acceptance activities

About Our Team

Advanced Programs (7520), will integrate, adapt, and grow Sandia National Laboratories (SNL's) new product realization capabilities to meet the evolving needs of SNL and the greater Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE). Departments 7521 and 7522 are an integrated high functional team that cooperatively tackles a variety of product realization challenges for the NSE and others.
