Description

Essential Functions:



  • Effectively schedules all work relating to product testing, utilizing personnel and test equipment to ensure product meets acceptable standards as set forth in RESNA, ISO, IEC, UL, cGMP, GDP, etc.
  • Reviews test requests/reports and samples, verifies accuracy/completeness to requirements, develops product testing to demonstrate product reliability, verifies technician training level required, assigns tests to technicians.
  • Maintains and ensures effective communications regarding product qualification activities with test requestors and management
  • Active support/development of product design standards (development of RESNA/ISO/UL standards)
  • Ensures consistent compliance to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assess equipment needs, capacity for internal and external testing and staffing needs for the development of departmental budget.
  • Development of product testing protocols to support new product development and existing product changes.
  • Represent CTL in new product development activities including status updates during phase gate reviews.
  • Ensure effective communication with technicians regarding department and/or company goals.
  • Ensures a safe working environment by complying with OSHA standards and maintaining accurate MSDS files
  • Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by all direct reports
  • Trains and develops new and existing associates and, composes and delivers effective performance appraisals.
  • Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identifies, hires and promotes individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results
  • Develop a team environment that values diversity and uses various individual's strengths to the benefit of the team

Qualifications

  • 5 -7 years of demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience in a team-oriented environment preferably in a technical field
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or additional technical education preferred
  • ASQ technical certification preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic components, electro-mechanical and general test equipment
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis of data
  • Ability to provide direction when balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to write test protocol procedures (work instructions) relating to product testing requirements.
  • Familiar with ISO standards (ISO 13485), design control practices (ISO 17025), cGMP and new product development processes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with international teams
