Your opportunity

The Senior Director, Brand Experience at New Relic will serve as the architect of our brand narrative, ensuring that our brand story resonates across all audience interactions. This role will integrate our brand across New Relic, overseeing functions that include creative and experiential design and corporate events. We are looking for a leader with a passion and creative vision to bring our brand promise to life, particularly through our events and experiences-one of our most crucial touchpoints. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into engaging brand narratives, visuals, and experiences. Reporting to the CMO, you will play a key role in shaping New Relic's brand narrative, engaging employees, and elevating the company's presence in the market.


What you'll do

Strategic Brand Development:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with New Relic's vision and goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of brand marketing professionals to drive the brand's messaging, positioning, and creative direction, setting the bar for creative excellence and ensuring the quality of final work.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and sales teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all touchpoints, translating technical concepts into accessible narratives.
  • Conduct market research and analyze consumer behavior and trends to inform brand strategy and campaigns.
  • Utilize data and insights to measure and optimize the effectiveness of brand marketing initiatives.


Corporate Production



  • Vision, evangelize, and bring to life a new era of experiences for our portfolio of events, from our consumer-facing first-party and third-party events, to internal events like company kickoffs, sales kickoffs, and President's Club.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to our field marketing team, working hand-in-hand to reimagine and elevate the experiences we deliver.
  • Manage and inspire a team of creatives and agency partners to execute world-class events that surprise and delight our customers, employees, and community members.
  • Dream up innovative ways to bring our industry-leading solutions and inspiring customer stories to life in impactful and immersive ways across all touchpoints-keynotes, venue signage, expo floors, and more.
  • Define an overarching creative strategy for events, determining what we want attendees to think and feel, and setting the tone for our communications.
  • Manage high-complexity productions end-to-end, including run-of-show, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination


Creative Production:



  • Lead creative strategy by identifying and articulating the "why" behind effective creative work, balancing business goals with brand integrity.
  • Continuously optimize and expand creative through various touchpoints to build awareness, engagement, and preference for New Relic, effectively translating technical concepts into engaging visuals and experiences.
  • Sound judgment and decisiveness in making sound creative calls, embracing diverse perspectives while driving for increased velocity of quality creative output.


Team Leadership:



  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, spanning all levels of the company and across departments.




This role requires



  • 12+ years of experience in corporate marketing, brand management, or related fields, ideally within the technology or SaaS industry.
  • Proven track record of success in brand strategy and design, with expertise that demonstrates a deep understanding of brand development and creative direction.
  • Exceptional narrative crafting skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling brand stories for diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in building and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • A strategic, data-driven mindset with a strong ability to measure the impact of branding efforts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
