Responsibilities

Join our team as a summer 2026 Engineer Intern

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Engine Systems. The program consists of 10-14 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, speaker training, and a project selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Engine Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it's Howmet Aerospace's goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Perform Cycle time measurements and tracking
  • Work with cell engineer top identify cycle reductions and implement improvements
  • Conduct blending defects analysis
  • Educe handling damage
  • review expendable tooling to make sure maximum/minimum are adequate
  • Tracking using the scrap program established
  • Gather deviations from RTA to be sent to the casting houses for review.
  • Additional tasks as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Ceramic Engineering) from an accredited institution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
  • Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus.
