About the Position:

In an exciting and challenging environment, the OTG Shipper, under general supervision, performs daily and other related duties following established practices set forth in the Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions manuals.

What you'll do:

1. Conditions ingots by spot grinding up to 100% grind according to sales order requirements.
2. Tests, stencils, re-weighs, and releases material for shipment according to sales order requirements.
3. Ships ingots to and receives pieces from EMP and NAF as required.
4. Operates remote control crane(s), band saw(s), OTG Grinder, oxygen lance, SpectroTest/XRF unit, business computer system(s) and other equipment as needed.
5. Uses mag rod for required cutting tasks.
6. Loads, unloads, and transfers material to required location by transfer cars.
7. Retrieves necessary information from database.
8. Assists shippers when needed.
9. Transports scrap to required scrap bins and scrapyard.
10. Maintains a clean and safe working area.
11. Performs and completes all pre-operational inspections for crane and mobile equipment.
12. Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
13. Must have the ability and desire to work well with others.
14. Meets attendance requirements.
15. Performs other duties as deemed necessary

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.

EXPERIENCE: Remote Crane operation and prior shipping experience in an industrial environment is required.

TRAINING: Theoretical Steelmaking Course and must satisfactorily complete the EQS Crane Training Program.
