About the Position:

The Engineering Intern will work closely with our Engineering Department to support a variety of projects related to our steelmaking and remelting operations. This position will offer an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world engineering environment and learn from experienced professionals. Will be required to submit to a criminal background investigation. Hair follicle drug screening will be required upon offer of employment. Applicants must be able to provide a High School Diploma/GED upon hire.

RESPONSIBLITIES:



  • Work with the engineering team to develop and execute engineering projects related to our steelmaking and remelting operations.
  • Assist with project planning and implementation, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Assist Engineers with construction management.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the facility to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct technical research and analysis to support engineering projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting to identify and address issues.
  • Support engineering team with daily task and responsibility, as needed.
  • Required to develop a presentation of the projects and lessons learned during the internship. This presentation will be delivered to members of management near the end of the internship.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
  • Must be available for emergency situations that may arise outside the course of the regular workday or workweek.
  • Meets attendance requirements.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must currently be enrolled in an accredited engineering program and have completed a minimum of three (3) year of the program.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work with data and analyze information.
  • Ability to work independently (self-directed).
  • Ability to adjust to continuously changing environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other engineering software applications.
  • Required to have an active and valid driver's license, or the ability to travel and commute as required, and comply with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
