Pay Grade: 13


Salary Range: $123,082 - $177,069


Salary range updated 2/26/2026. Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.


Location: Glastonbury, CT



Purpose/Objective:



Develops and services Commercial and Industrial (C&I) relationships. Actively participates in business development activities with the Commercial Team Leader to assist in the growth of the bank, including outside calling, and referrals to other lines of business. Manages and develops a commercial portfolio of mid-sized companies with revenues between $10MM and $200MM+ who may have unique and/or complex banking needs between $2.5MM and $25MM+.



Key Accountabilities:



Portfolio Size/Composition:



  • Manage a defined diverse commercial loan portfolio of existing Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers with revenues between $10MM and $200MM+, which may have more complex financing needs.
  • Customer borrowing needs typically $2.5MM-$25MM+ relationships.
  • Customers may require specialized knowledge/industry expertise (C&I/ABL/Healthcare/Not for Profit), including a general understanding of borrowing base/formula-followed line of credits



New Business Development:



  • Able to develop new business with assistance from team leader and other team members/business partners as appropriate.
  • Actively networking at community events with the lending team and developing Centers of Influence to establish a presence in the Community.



Deal Structuring/Negotiation:



  • Able to structure most deals with minimal guidance. Has solid negotiating skills and ability to recommend covenants structure/thresholds for all deals.
  • Able to prepare Opportunity Memo's with minimal guidance from the Team Leader for new business requests that would be presented to senior lender and senior credit officer. Review loan documentation and close loans with terms and conditions consistent with approvals.



Portfolio Management/Credit Skills:



  • Has good working relationship with Portfolio Managers, Credit Partners and Documentation Specialists to ensure proper management of portfolio including financial reporting, annual reviews and file memos, as well as exception resolution.


  • Able to assess financial performance and risk including identifying ways to mitigate risk to the bank. Establishes a working relationship with Credit Partners to ensure ongoing credit quality of portfolio.
  • Shows proven ability to adhere to sound risk management/pricing practices as well as to all internal and external credit/regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.



Customer Service:



  • Provides excellent customer service to retain and expand existing relationships.
  • Identifies and understands customer needs. Demonstrates solid knowledge of banking products and services. Makes proactive recommendations and cross sells bank products. Has a good working relationship with all product partners.



Education:



  • BS Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent financial experience
  • MBA a plus



Experience:



  • 7+ years of Commercial Banking and/or related experience



Skills & Knowledge:




  • Solid loan structuring and negotiation skills, with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task to meet timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to effectively present to senior levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
  • Strong computer skills: data management, Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel), Salesforce, nCino
