Senior Windows System Administrator

Edgewater is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a major national laboratory.

The requirements vary in range and scope, from single-system administration and user support to highly complex, cutting-edge technologies. Specific examples of these requirements include operating system and application administration and modification, cybersecurity, scripting and code development, high-performance computing (HPC), knowledge of hardware specifications, cloud maintenance, disaster recovery support, implementation and maintenance, scripting, programming, and computational scheduling.

As a Senior Systems Administrator specializing in Windows Operating Systems and PowerShell, the candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our physical and virtual server environments.
• Your expertise will be essential in proactively monitoring, maintaining, and repairing server systems to meet the demands of our organization and clients.
• You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to hardware, operating systems, and applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
• Collaboration will be key as they work closely with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems in alignment with business needs.
• You shall contribute to process development and system improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for enhancements that drive operational excellence.
• Additionally, you will coordinate with Project and Program Managers to ensure effective problem resolution and user satisfaction, making informed recommendations for major systems installations as necessary.

• BS in relevant discipline plus 2 minimum years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is applicable
• Ability to obtain DOE Q security clearance
• Must be US Citizen
• Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque as onsite work is required

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in developing and automating system administration tasks using PowerShell scripting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration and deployment projects.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
