As an industry-leading Healthcare provider, UHG is one of the world's most diverse and dynamic companies, demanding a high-quality and ever-vigilant global security operations center and function to help keep it's people and operations safe and secure. This unique position will lead UHG's Enterprise Resilience and Global Crisis Management for the Enterprise, and be responsible for designing how the company provides the necessary management and coordination of response coverage 24/7/365 during security incidents, with oversight of response doctrine, playbooks, activation and communication frameworks and after-action reviews. This role will also oversee three core resiliency functions - Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Resiliency doctrine - for both internal processes as well as UHG's vast 3rd party supply chain. Both functions require knowledge and experience communicating at all levels of the company, from the technical and security teams responding to an incident all the way to UHG's senior-most executives and Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of mature global crisis management and enterprise resiliency standards and models and the process of managing them, as well as how to conduct successful recovery operations. The candidate must also have demonstrated experience successfully managing a global team, as well as coordinating incident management with a diverse range of internal and external communities, including LEO, government, legal, compliance, business & IT.

For all hires within 30 minutes of an office in Minnesota or Washington, D.C., you'll be required to work a minimum of four days per week in-office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead UHG's Enterprise Resiliency and Global Crisis Management organizations
  • Manage escalations for critical incidents & and drive 24/7 crisis management operations across the company
  • Aid in the coordination of incident response and crisis management activities with the International community, along with Legal, IT, Business experts and Communications
  • Experience with local and multiple country regulations governing crisis and resiliency operations, and the handling of sensitive and/or regulatory reporting requirements
  • Manage the crisis response framework for UHG according to best practices, maintaining a standard of the highest quality & confidentiality
  • Mentors other managers, engineers & investigators in security and UHG best practices
  • Coordinate critical, often multiple, crisis management efforts spanning multiple geographies
  • Work with UHG legal teams to develop and maintain best practices and policy for crisis management doctrine and resiliency best practices across shared critical systems
  • Partner in the evelopment and implementation of key policies and programs for UHG response to security incidents
  • Work with government agencies to coordinate UHG involvement in simulations and exercises to assess our overall readiness
  • Continue to develop, support, grow and lead a federated, company-wide enterprise resilience and global crisis management teams
  • Develop a company-wide incident reporting process to provide timely metrics about security incidents
  • Work with the head of Enterprise security operations to provide best-in-class monitoring, response, and reporting for network and computer incidents

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must possess solid verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and group facilitation skills, specifically in large or complex problem settings
  • 10+ years of experience in the information technology, resilience or incident response area
  • Industry or sector leadership in developing and improving the field of Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management
  • Hands-on experience developing large-scale enterprise resilience and crisis management processes
  • Change agent with ability to drive compliance, protocols, and standardization
  • Strong business acumen & successful track record in aligning with customers
  • Strong cross-functional team player with ability to manage and coach others in a matrix structure, across time zone and national boundaries
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug test and pass successfully
  • Must submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background
  • Familiarity with Lean / Process Reengineering concepts

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
