Join PPG's Aerospace Business as a Plant Manager! You will develop and maintain an organization within the site that supports both Business and Operational strategies. You will provide strategic, developmental, and tactical direction of the facility to drive Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement. Additionally, you will oversee the accurate and timely delivery of product to our customers within the desired Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Customer Service standards. This is an onsite position at based at our Huntsville, AL. facility and you will report to the Director of Global Operations. Key Responsibilities
Actively engage in Safety and Quality; lead by example and ensure operational discipline and compliance with both company and regulatory standards and requirements are fulfilled for all departments on site. Monitor and review Environmental, Health, and Safety performance; ensure compliance and continuous improvement in striving for a risk-free manufacturing environment. Build an organizational culture that has a bias for action, commitment to value-added services/processes, and a sense of accountability and leadership. Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators; lead corrective action to deviations to plan. Facilitate communications throughout the site and within the respective SBU, Platform, and Teams offsite. Provide the critical thinking necessary to lead and direct the analysis of alternative approaches and methodologies necessary to deliver efficiencies and simplicity. Strive to ensure that the service requirements for performance, as dictated by internal and external customers, are achieved. Develop and manage the strategies and processes of the operational functions within the site; ensure agreement and progress on process standardization, accomplishment, and collaboration. Delegates work assignments while matching responsibilities to the employee; set expectations and monitors performance while providing feedback and recognition of results. Deliver financial commitments to operating plans; achieve expense, variance, and production plans as budgeted. Participate in Working Capital management; including regular communication and action to address deviations to plan. Anticipate technological industry changes and review opportunities to enhance operations to increase productivity, support business growth, and deliver competitive advantages. Create ideas and plans to enhance the performance of the manufacturing site, e.g., safety, process, rate, yields and quality improvement through lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts. Stimulate site personnel to think outside the box. Drive the root cause/corrective action process for critical issues and ensure that all corrective actions are completed and sustained and drive the predicted results. Conformance with the PPG and SBU Quality and EH&S policies. Ensure MOCs, RCCA for EHS CARs and Quality CARs are completed as expected. Communicate with all levels within organization from upper management to shop floor and from customers to vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline. 10 + years of operations and engineering experience, within discrete manufacturing operation. 5+years of management/supervisory experience. Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally AS9100D. Labor relations experience is a bonus. Experience driving improved performance and metrics. Experience identifying and developing high-growth talent. Develop short- and long-term vision for site policies, processes and structure.
