Senior Manager, Product Line Management

As a Product Line Manager within Fortinet's organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving the execution and delivery of engineering development projects. You will serve as the primary liaison between Software and Hardware Engineering, orchestrating collaboration across cross-functional teams-including Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Finance-as well as external vendors. You are responsible for identifying, assessing, and communicating critical issues and risks that impact schedule and budget. We are looking for a high-energy self-starter who provides on-site leadership with an uncompromising eye for detail, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead Fortinet's system platforms through the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and NPI (New Product Introduction) to successful market launch.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure project goals align with Fortinet's broader vision and business objectives.
  • Execution & Risk Management: Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Direct ODM/CM partners and component vendors to ensure superior product design quality and strict adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Resource & Asset Optimization: Manage the team's R&D budget, assets (equipment), and procurement plans to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Documentation Oversight: Collaborate with technical writers to ensure comprehensive documentation-including "how-to" guides, support protocols, and troubleshooting tools-is accurately maintained.

Key Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS/MS degree in Engineering; MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in Project/Product Management, Operations, or a high-performance leadership role within a technology organization.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Hardware Development Life Cycles (HDLC) and ODM/CM working models.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to manage complex engineering development cycles while remaining flexible and composed in the face of ambiguity.
  • Language: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required for effective technical communication and negotiation with vendors and partners.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$235,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors, including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program. Bonus eligibility is reviewed at the time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion.
