Job Description
  • Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating supplier agreements and programs
  • Provide training, customer service and direction to locations that utilize the materials, products or services
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of progressive work experience managing purchasing and procurement functions from requisition through disbursement cycle
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Knowledge of state procurement practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in drafting and analyzing Request For Proposals, Request For Qualifications, Request For Informations, contracts, business documents and/or other agreements while assuring compliance with applicable laws, guidelines and contract terms
  • Experience in negotiating purchasing terms with existing and prospective suppliers
