To provide leadership in Distribution Quality Assurance by ensuring that the company meets or exceeds customer requirements. The role is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining a consistent methodology for compliance and continuous improvement.

Scope of Position

Lead the Distribution Center Quality Management System to ensure order accuracy, damage prevention, inventory integrity, and customer satisfaction. Drive Continuous Improvement across inbound, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. This role will supervise one or more quality team members. This position reports to the Director of Distribution Center Operations and is based fully onsite at our distribution center in Groveport, OH.

Travel requirements: Up to 25%

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. DC Quality Management System (QMS) & Compliance

  • Own the DC QMS including SOPs, document control, audit calendar, and management review.
  • Serve as site representative for ISO 9001, ensuring processes meet requirements.
  • Lead internal audits and corrective/preventive actions.

2. Customer Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and publish DC quality KPIs: Perfect Order Rate, Accuracy, Damage Rate, Returns Trends, and Customer Complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and communication for customer quality issues.
  • FacilitateLean and Continuous Improvement projects.

3. Inbound Quality (Receiving &Put-Away)

  • Establishreceiving inspection standards.
  • Manage over, short & damaged (OS&D) shipping variances and partner with vendors on defect trends.

4. Outbound Quality (Pick/Pack/Ship)

  • Implement pick audits, Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) sampling and final load audits.
  • Set packaging standards to reduce in-transit damage.

5. Inventory Integrity & Data Quality

  • Own cycle counts quality and root cause analysis of variances.
  • Monitor Warehouse Management System (WMS) data hygiene and scanning adherence.

6. Returns, Non-Conforming, and Disposition

  • Chair of the DC Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Define quality, hold protocols, and traceability.

7. Training, Standards, and Governance

  • Develop Standard of Work, quality checklists, and audit routines.
  • Train associates and leaders on quality criteria.

8. Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Transportation, IT, Customer Service, and Procurement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline, manufacturing, or business discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of quality or operations experience in a distribution environment.
  • Experience withLean Six Sigma and data analysis.
  • Computerproficiencyin Microsoft Office and statistical packages
  • Ability to work with Customer/Supplier representatives regarding all quality relatedissues.
  • Excellent organizational skills with focus on detail.
  • Knowledge of WMS processes and inventory control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • ASQ or supply chain certifications.
  • Proficiency with Minitab.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a Distribution Center and will perform many of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the distribution center floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Groveport location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
