Ecolab RD&E Software Engineering team is responsible for delivering solutions for Ecolab's IoT devices which will deliver the data to develop the insights which allow our customers to be cleaner, healthier and safer. As part of this commitment, you will work with our stakeholders across the Institutional sector. The solutions you test will be part of Ecolab's global portfolio of products and solutions. The Software Manual QA Anaylst is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications that support Ecolab's digital transformation within the IoT domain through comprehensive manual testing. This role involves creating and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products. You will be part of a dynamic team and utilize a variety of technologies to solve Ecolab's most advanced IoT problems. What's in it For You:

What You Will Do:
  • Create and execute detailed manual test plans and test cases based on software requirements and specifications
  • Design and implement long-term performance and load testing strategies
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and backend teams to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Identify, document, and track software defects with detail regarding defect found, repro steps, system and build info, and all the logs to support troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results
  • Generate QA metrics and status reports for stakeholders
  • Provide accurate timeline estimates for assigned testing tasks
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA team members to ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Participate in Agile/scrum ceremonies as relevant for assigned projects
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve manual QA policies and procedures to deliver consistent and reliable products
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA professionals
  • Define, measure, and track manual QA performance metrics
Position Details:
  • This position is located Eagan, MN
  • Work Schedule: full-time, standard business hours, onsite
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field or equivalent experience
  • 8 years' experience in manual software testing
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies
  • 3 years of experience with Azure Dev Ops or similar
  • 3 years of testing experience with Firmware/Embedded systems
  • Familiarity with white-box and black-box testing techniques

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and on teams
  • Desire to continuously grow knowledge base and skillset
  • Collaborative, consultative mindset
  • Testing experience in ARM based microcontrollers, such as ST Micro, NXP, or Silicon Labs EFM.
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols (CANbus, Modbus, MQTT)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting (python, C# for future growth)

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $107,600.00 - $161,500.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
