Department:Mosquito Control Department Organizational Unit:Mosquito Control Department Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $2,022.03 to $2,224.23 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Titusville/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Performs entry-level professional work and assists in a variety of tasks on environmentally, entomologically, and public-health related projects and programs in the area of assignment. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental, a Physical, or a Natural Science related to the area of assignment, including Biology, Entomology, Public Health and Environmental Science. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must complete all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees classes within nine (9) months of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a State of Florida Public Health Pest Control license, issued in accordance with Florida Statute 388, and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a State of Florida Aquatic Pest Control license, Category 5A, issued in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 487, and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a forty (40)-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification, in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must be able to work overtime and will be required to work extended hours during emergency conditions such as fires, hurricanes, and mosquito outbreaks. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
