ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year-round

This position is responsible for operating a straight truck or tractor-trailer equipment and maintaining equipment properly in order to transport material to designated location in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

1. Safely operate Class A or B truck to transport material to job site often times driving on uneven or unfinished surface
2. Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition
3. Maintains driver log according to ICC regulations as required
4. May operate loader to load aggregate into truck box
5. Daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and out, greasing, oiling, brakes, lights and any other maintenance instructed to perform
6. Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment
7. Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, set up and take downs
8. Tarp load when needed
9. Clean spilled material/buildup off box (spill chutes, belts, side boards, etc.)
10. Verify that gates are closed
11. Complete load tickets
12. Assist construction crews while waiting to unload
13. Spread product
14. Maintain proper information in truck cab pouch
15. Report information accurately and completely on daily timecards, truck cab information and other needed paperwork
16. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
17. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

As a successful CMV driver you will have:

1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent
2. A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) or CDL Class B (straight truck) license. Preference given for experience driving a belly dump, lowboy, lowboy, tanker or straight truck
3. Must have and maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and required endorsements
4. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
