Description MaineHealth Corporate Professional - Nonclinical Req #: 71960 Summary: The Corporate Counsel role provides legal services to MaineHealth's constituent hospitals and ambulatory healthcare practices and administration; in particular, providing advice regarding the legal and ethical considerations in patient care; providing advice regarding compliance with patient privacy and data security laws and regulations; representing MaineHealth in administrative hearings involving patient care, subpoenas for patient records, treatment orders and related proceedings; participating in cross-disciplinary system committees; consulting with care teams on complex patients care matters; reviewing and drafting contracts and agreements; and interacting with insurers regarding application, coverage, and insurance renewals. Corporate counsel will also perform other assignments made by the General Counsel. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate from an accredited law school required. License/Certifications: Licensed to practice law in the State of Maine required. Admission to Maine State Bar required. Experience: Five years of experience representing healthcare clients and demonstrating knowledge of health law, commercial contracting, patient privacy laws and other legal topics associated with the representation of health care providers required. Thebase rangeis an estimate and does notreflect the full valueofourtotal compensationpackage. The pay range for this position is $166,545.60to $225,347.20per year. Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
