The Custom Cloud Solutions (CCS) Hardware Validation Group is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of next generation data center ASIC and SoC products spanning a diverse portfolio that includes cloud infrastructure, AI accelerators, network processors, NICs, custom ASICs, SSD controllers, CXL devices, and domain specific accelerators.

The team owns end to end hardware validation, working across the product lifecycle from early silicon bring up through system level qualification. Our scope includes functional hardware validation, electrical characterization, high speed SERDES validation, and system/platform validation, all executed in advanced, fully instrumented hardware labs. The group validates complex, high performance silicon and platforms across a wide range of critical technologies and interfaces, including Memory Subsystems (DDR, HBM, memory controllers), High Speed Interconnects (PCIe, Ethernet, CPRI, PAM4/NRZ), D2D interconnects, Storage, and IO (Flash and NVME, SSD controllers, USB) and System and Platform testing.

What You Can Expect

* Senior-level lab technician expert responsible for reliable operation and optimization of hardware lab environments and test systems
* Support engineering teams in hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and characterization activities
* Execute test plans by configuring, launching, and monitoring test programs, ensuring accurate data collection across multiple stations
* Perform hands-on lab work including setting up test platforms, connecting equipment, and taking precise measurements using standard lab instruments
* Analyze PCB schematics and layout tools to locate test points, trace interconnections, and support troubleshooting efforts
* Assist engineers in debugging circuit boards and isolating hardware issues
* Collect, post-process, review, and summarize test data, maintaining accurate logs and reports in shared systems
* Manage lab inventory, including test samples, boards, subsystems, and equipment, ensuring readiness and organization
* Perform board rework and modifications as required to support testing and validation activities
* Collaborate cross-functionally to improve lab workflows, processes, and overall efficiency

What We're Looking For

* Associate's degree with 8+ years of hands-on experience in hardware or engineering lab environments
* Excellent rework and soldering skills, including BGA devices and fine-pitch components down to 0201 size
* Strong expertise in reading PCB schematics and using layout tools to trace signals and identify test points
* Solid experience in board bring-up, hardware debugging, and troubleshooting, with the ability to isolate component-level issues using diagnostics and schematics
* Proven experience managing lab inventory, including test samples, boards, subsystems, and equipment
* Strong documentation skills, including maintaining detailed test logs, reports, and shared data repositories
* Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments (Ubuntu, RHEL), including setting up new lab PC systems and configuring static IP addresses
* Basic networking knowledge for lab systems and remote access support
* Working knowledge of ESD protection procedures and lab safety practices
* Strong problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and methodical in approach

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

42 - 63, $ per hour.

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
