Position Summary

The Fleet and Facilities Supervisor provide oversight and operational management of Parking & Transportation Services fleet assets, parking facilities, and related infrastructure. This position supervises fleet and facilities staff and ensures the safe operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of department vehicles, buses, parking structures, and surface lots.

The supervisor coordinates preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, vendor services, and safety inspections for the department's fleet vehicles and parking infrastructure. The position also ensures operational continuity for transportation services and maintains parking facilities to support accessibility, safety, and effective campus mobility.

This position works closely with departmental leadership, vendors, the financial division for quote and payment processes, and campus partners to ensure efficient maintenance operations and timely response to operational needs, including emergency repairs, special events, and campus service disruptions.

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Position may require lifting equipment or materials, operating maintenance equipment, and responding to operational issues in varying weather conditions. Occasional evening, weekend, or emergency response work may be required

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement is a requirement for this job.
  • As a CDL driver, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of DOT Regulation 49 CFR Parts 40 and 382, including random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must maintain certification status.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in automotive technology,
    Facilities Management, Construction Management, Transportation Operations, or a
    related field.
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance programs for fleet
    vehicles or buses.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) vehicle inspection
    and safety compliance standards.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance services and repairs with
    external vendors and contractors.
  • Experience with parking infrastructure maintenance, including
    parking lot striping, signage installation, and asphalt maintenance and repair.
  • Experience of maintaining automated parking systems or pay station
    equipment.
  • Experience in maintaining maintenance inventory systems for fleet
    and facilities operations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing maintenance or
    operations staff.
  • Experience working in a higher education, municipal, or public
    sector environment.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to respond to operational emergencies and service
    disruptions.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and risk management
    practices
