Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Manager (RN) to join our team! This management position will support the Round Rock North, Harker Heights, Georgetown, and Georgetown East locations. This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP): is an incentive program that typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on your position, performance, and potential for future career growth at Texas Oncology. Awards are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. LTIP awards are subject to your continued employment through the award payment date, and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document.

What does the Nurse Manager do?

Position will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Clinical or Nursing Services, if applicable, to provide nursing support for practice locations by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementation of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Provides oversight of nursing leadership and staff. Supports and adheres to The US Oncology Network Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
    • Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
    • Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
    • Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
    • Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
  • Staff Development
    • Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
    • Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics or region
    • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides oversight for functions of nurse leads and supervisors as applicable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Manager will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
