PAY RANGE: $23-$26 hourly

OVERVIEW:

The Facilities Assistant supports the physical facility needs of the Monterey Peninsula Corps under the direction of the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include all grounds, buildings, housing units, and utilities of the Corps.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide support for all facilities
  • Prepare and maintain spaces for use
  • Coordinate janitorial and maintenance contractors with approval from Corps Officer
  • Ensure all areas are neat and organized
  • Ensure all maintenance and landscaping tools and equipment are in good and safe condition
  • Complete maintenance work as ordered
  • Oversee contracted landscaping services so grounds are always in good condition
  • Remove all trash from grounds
  • Ensure and oversee sprinkler systems are functioning and repair as needed
  • Ensure all corps vehicles are operational and in good condition
  • Ensure the mobile canteen is operational and fully stocked
  • Effectively direct & oversee volunteers
  • Attend all Safety Committee meetings
  • Conduct safety inspections as required
  • Ensure setup and breakdown for all meetings and events
  • Prepare the Chapel for Sunday services
  • Assist with holiday kettle and toy drives
  • Coordinate special projects as assigned
  • Perform deliveries and pickups as needed
  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • CA driver's license (required)
  • Experience in facility maintenance and grounds
  • Knowledge of of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water, landscape, and irrigation systems
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
  • Able to work independently and use a Work Order System
  • Proficient with power and hand tools while following safety procedures
  • Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
  • Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
