Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Intern, Sustainability This internship opportunity with Arcwood Environmental is a 12-week program where you are immersed in your assigned department gaining real hands-on experience.

The Intern, Sustainability at Arcwood Environmental, reporting to the Communications and Sustainability team, will support the development and implementation of key sustainability initiatives across the organization. This role offers experience in data collection, sustainability research, stakeholder support, and cross-functional project coordination. The intern will gain exposure to industry-leading sustainability frameworks, emerging regulations, and real-world environmental strategy within a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Supports Arcwood's sustainability strategy with research on climate, resource management, circularity, regulatory compliance
  • Collaborates with teams across Operations, Finance, Communications/Marketing to gather information for sustainability initiatives
  • Supports validation and quality checks of reported data
  • Assists in developing simple tools or communications materials that promote sustainability within the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Assists in ensuring that long-term sustainability goals become actionable tasks, helping to drive sustainability further into our processes and operation
  • Helps gather sustainability data and stories of impact from sites around the country to demonstrate the real difference our team is making at our sites, for our customers and in communities
  • Conducts benchmarking research and assists in identifying tools or process improvements
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education

- An enrolled, full-time college student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or related science/engineering field (required)
- Overall GPA > 2.7, with a GPA in major >3.0 (required)
