As a Hog Procurement Business Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting the Livestock Procurement Department through a variety of administrative and operational tasks that keep the team running smoothly. From managing data entry and purchasing to assisting with day-to-day business operations, you'll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your organizational skills and attention to detail make a real impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Training & Certification Management: Work with department staff to prepare training materials and ensure all training and certifications are up to date and properly maintained. Maintain the employee training matrix, including both department-specific and company-wide training information. Maintain Hog Procurement licenses, including compliance-related certifications such as USDA Weighmaster licenses.

  • Administrative & Data Management: Perform daily data entry and verification using department systems such as SAP, HRA applications, SDI, and Pork Checkoff databases. Maintain and manage inventory of all department supplies. Track and report key procurement data, including specialty programs, department KPIs, non-ambulatory tracking, and hot scale data. Provide procurement information to other departments, including Corporate, Safety, HR, and Food Safety.

  • Supplier Scheduling & Compliance: Ensure supplier schedules are submitted, approved, and aligned with PVP (Process Verified Program) requirements. Maintain close relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth delivery coordination. Verify farm delivery schedules for accuracy and compliance with the approved supplier list and PQA+/TQA certifications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HRA and paperless scheduling, especially during check-in or as reported by dispatch.

  • Communication & Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly and regularly with team members and management to ensure alignment and smooth operations. Collaborate cross-functionally to support the needs and goals of the Livestock Procurement team. Complete special assignments and projects as assigned by the Livestock Procurement team. Provide customer service and problem-solving support to employees, producers, and support teams by resolving questions and concerns.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years of relevant experience, required.

  • Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software

  • Knowledge and/ or interaction with livestock procurement procedures/ personnel to understand live animal transportation documentation.

  • USDA Bonded, preferred.

  • National Pork Board's Pork Quality Assurance Plus Certification and Truckers Quality Assurance Certification, preferred.

  • The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Frequently required to move and/or lift 100 pounds and occasionally required to move and/or lift more than 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
