Position Responsibilities

Team Overview
The UX Team shapes how customers experience Deltek's products. We conduct continuous research to understand real user needs, maintain a growing research repository, and are actively building AI-augmented research workflows, blending human judgment with AI tools to move faster and dig deeper. Our work directly informs product and design decisions across Deltek's portfolio.

Why Intern at Deltek?
You'll execute real research on active business projects, working closely with the team and reporting to a Director of UX. You'll learn how a mature research program operates, from participant recruitment to insight synthesis to stakeholder delivery and get hands-on experience with AI tools that are reshaping how research gets done. We offer a remote, 10-week summer internship with a global team where you'll build foundational skills and make a tangible contribution.

What You'll Do

  • Execute continuous research activities (recruiting, facilitating, and documenting) across high-priority business projects.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into actionable, stakeholder-ready insights.
  • Maintain and contribute to the UX Research Repository with properly structured, tagged studies.
  • Learn and apply AI-augmented research workflows for metadata generation, insight synthesis, and research discovery.
  • Support Synthetic Persona development by grounding personas in real customer data.
Who You Are

  • Curious about the "why" behind user behavior and excited about AI's role in augmenting research.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: you'd rather figure things out than wait for a playbook.
  • Proactive and collaborative: you manage your own work and speak up when you see something.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Information Science, or related fields.
  • Coursework or project experience in at least two UX research methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, contextual inquiry).
  • Ability to analyze qualitative or quantitative data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort working remotely with a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to enterprise or B2B software (as a user, student project, or prior internship).
  • Familiarity with tools like Figma/FigJam, Miro, or survey platforms.
  • Interest in AI-augmented research workflows.
  • Experience with journey mapping, workflow analysis, or information architecture concepts.
  • Portfolio or sample work demonstrating research thinking (class projects are fine).
