Workers' Compensation Claim Examiner Overview: We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to manage complex medical and indemnity claims across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires strong technical knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to handle higherrisk and litigated claims while delivering excellent experience for injured workers and employers. Work Environment * Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM * First week of training onsite in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities: * Evaluate compensability and manage complex workers' compensation claims within authority * Handle medical and indemnity claims across multiple jurisdictions * Serve as the primary point of contact for injured workers, employers, providers, and agents * Conduct injured worker interviews and ensure timely initial contact * Review medical records to assess treatment appropriateness * Establish and manage reserves within authority * Manage litigated and higherrisk claims, including surgical cases * Partner with defense counsel, nurse case managers, specialists, and leadership * Identify and resolve critical claim issues, including subrogation * Ensure timely benefit payments and compliance with state statutes * Maintain accurate, welldocumented claim files * Participate in claim reviews, audits, and special projects Claim Scope & Jurisdictions: * Level III and IV claims, including higher exposure and litigated cases * Target caseload: 120-150 claims, adjusted for complexity * Jurisdictions supported: MN, NE, SD, IA, WI, MO, KS Qualifications: * Minimum 3+ years in workers' compensation, insurance, medical, or related field * Workers' compensation claims experience strongly preferred * Knowledge of multistate workers' compensation laws * Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims systems * High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred * Adjuster license/designation preferred (companypaid licensing support available) #centralpriority26 Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
