Overview

The Senior Project Engineer supports the delivery of mining, minerals, and metals projects, contributing to engineering execution across studies and project phases. This role works across open-pit and underground mining and associated process facilities, supporting technical coordination, project planning, and execution to meet project requirements.

Purpose

Serve as a Senior Project Engineer and/or Area Lead supporting detailed engineering and EPC/EPCM project delivery. This role is responsible for coordinating technical activities, supporting project execution, and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities across mining, minerals, and metals projects.
  • Support and deliver conceptual, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to support engineering execution and project delivery.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, applicable standards, and quality expectations.
  • Develop and review project schedules, cost estimates, and execution plans.
  • Support procurement activities, ensuring materials and equipment meet specifications, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Identify and help resolve technical and project execution challenges.
  • Participate in site visits as required to support engineering and project execution.
  • Provide technical input to support client engagement and business development efforts.
  • Support implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project phases.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in mining projects, including process plants, open-pit, underground, or material handling.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Engineer or senior engineering role.
  • Experience supporting engineering studies and project execution.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NI 43-101 and/or SK-1300.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with EPC/EPCM project delivery.
  • Construction and/or operational mining experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
