As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Senior Technical Writer. Department Overview

AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the strategic development and production of a diverse portfolio of documents for clients and their customers, driving innovation in documentation practices while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • This role entails the creation of sophisticated user guides, extensive reference manuals, program maintenance manuals, and document coding manuals, all tailored for intricate databases and complex application systems.

  • For client customers, authors comprehensive research reports, nuanced statistical summaries, and specialized publications that employ advanced technical language.

  • In addition, spearheads the creation and editing of digital content for online platforms, focusing on enhancing user experience by transforming complex terminology into accessible language for the general public.

  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance, while leading initiatives to improve documentation processes and methodologies.

Required For This Opportunity
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience producing highquality technical documentation for complex systems, platforms, or programs in regulated or mission environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear, accurate, and audienceappropriate documentation for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Experience developing and maintaining a wide range of deliverables, including system documentation, user guides, SOPs, technical reports, and compliance artifacts.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work directly with engineers, architects, researchers, and program leadership to gather and validate technical content.

  • Active Secret clearance or higher, with ability to support classified or missioncritical programs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $76,000-$115,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location. We value transparency in our hiring process and are happy to discuss how your unique qualifications align with our compensation structure during the interview process.
